What is being tested?

The Aerospor mold rapid test is used to detect the quantity of live mold spores in the room air . During a defined test period of 30 minutes, spores from the air randomly settle on the test surface and can grow there as visible colonies .

The test provides an initial assessment of indoor air quality with regard to mold contamination.

When is the test useful?

The test can be used indoors if:

• There is a suspicion of increased mold contamination
• The indoor air quality is to be checked .
• If an initial assessment is desired after water damage, prolonged dampness or unclear odors

The test is for guidance only and does not replace a professional indoor air quality analysis.

Implementation and evaluation

The test plate is left uncovered in the room for 30 minutes . During this time, airborne spores can settle on the surface. Afterwards, the plate is sealed according to the instructions and stored at room temperature.

The test result can be assessed directly at home based on the visible colonies and classified using the enclosed guideline table.

Result and classification

The number of colonies that have grown provides information about the level of contamination of the indoor air with living mold spores .
In the case of conspicuous or unclear results , further clarification by specialists may be advisable.
