overview
This test combines a molecular genetic analysis of the gut microbiome with the determination of other relevant gut parameters . This provides a comprehensive assessment of both the composition of the gut flora and the functional state of the gut .
1) Molecular genetic microbiome analysis
Molecular genetic analysis examines the frequency and distribution of relevant bacterial strains and species in the gut. Among other things, the following are recorded:
- Firmicutes
- Bacteroidetes
- Proteobacteria
- Actinobacteria
- Verrucomicrobia
- Fusobacteria
- Euryarchaeota
- (Tenericutes)
The following analyses are also presented:
- Microbiome diversity
- Enterotype classification
- Assessment of possible dysbiosis
- FODMAP index
- Risk assessment in connection with metabolic, immunological and neurological issues
The test also includes anaerobic bacteria , which are often not detected or only partially detected using conventional testing methods.
2) Other bowel parameters
In addition to microbiome analysis, further parameters are determined that can provide information about digestive performance , the intestinal barrier and the immunological situation in the gut :
- Digestive residues
- Alpha-1 antitrypsin
- Calprotectin
- bile acids
- Pancreatic elastase
- secretory IgA (sIgA)
- Zonulin
These parameters allow for a more in-depth classification of intestinal function and complement the microbial analysis.
Implementation and classification
The examination is carried out using a stool sample , which is evaluated in the laboratory.
The results serve as a preliminary assessment of the gut flora and other intestinal functions. They do not replace medical diagnosis, but can support further professional evaluation .
