What is being investigated?
This test is a molecular genetic analysis of the gut microbiome . It examines the frequency and composition of relevant gut bacteria strains and species . The analysis is performed using modern molecular genetic methods and allows for a differentiated view of the gut ecosystem.
Which groups of bacteria are detected?
The test detects, among other things, the following groups of bacteria:
- Firmicutes
- Bacteroidetes
- Proteobacteria
- Actinobacteria
- Verrucomicrobia
- Fusobacteria
- Euryarchaeota
- (Tenericutes)
In addition to the quantitative recording of individual groups, the diversity of the microbiome is presented.
Extended evaluations
The analysis also includes:
- Representation of bacterial diversity
- Enterotype classification
- Assessment of possible dysbiosis
- FODMAP index
- Risk assessment in connection with metabolic, immunological and neurological issues
The results serve as a general guide and do not replace medical diagnosis.
Special features of the molecular genetic method
This test also detects anaerobic bacteria , which are often undetectable or only partially detectable using conventional testing methods. This allows for a more comprehensive analysis of the gut microbiome .
Implementation and classification
The examination is carried out using a stool sample , which is evaluated using molecular genetics in the laboratory.
The results provide information about the composition and balance of the intestinal flora and can serve as a basis for further professional clarification.
